BALCOR is a First Nations-owned and operated NDIS provider delivering a range of supports across the Northern Territory. We work with participants in Darwin and Palmerston, as well as people living in remote and regional communities.

Our services include Support Coordination, Community Access, Short Term Accommodation, Specialist Behaviour Support and employment-related supports.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Support Coordinator to join the Balcor team.

You will work alongside NDIS participants to implement their plans, achieve their goals, build capacity and connect them with the right supports and services. You will manage your own caseload and build strong working relationships with participants, families and other stakeholders.

Balcor supports participants across Darwin, Palmerston and remote Northern Territory communities. The successful applicant must be comfortable working across different environments and willing to travel to remote communities when required.

The role requires someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities and find practical solutions, particularly when working in remote communities where services and resources may be limited.

Key Responsibilities

- Work alongside NDIS participants to understand their goals, needs and preferences.

- Assist participants to understand and make the most of their NDIS plans and funding.





- Connect participants with appropriate NDIS, health, community and other support services.

- Advocate for participants and help them navigate complex service systems and overcome barriers.

- Support participants to build capacity, independence, confidence and resilience.

- Coordinate with families, support workers, allied health professionals, service providers and other stakeholders.

- Develop practical, person-centred support solutions that reflect each participant's culture, community and goals.

- Assist with NDIS plan reviews, reporting and achieving participant outcomes.

- Maintain accurate case notes, records and documentation in line with NDIS requirements and BALCOR policies.

- Travel to remote communities when required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Support Coordinator who can build genuine relationships, communicate respectfully and work confidently across both urban and remote environments.

Essential

- Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Support Coordinator.

- Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS.

- Demonstrated experience working respectfully and effectively with First Nations people and communities.

- Strong understanding of NDIS plans, funding, supports and participant rights.

- Experience coordinating supports and working with multiple stakeholders.

- Strong communication, advocacy, problem-solving and organisational skills.





- Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.

- Strong written communication and case note/report writing skills.

- Willingness and ability to travel to remote Northern Territory communities when required.

- Current driver's licence.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current Ochre Card.

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

- First Aid and CPR.

Qualifications

A certificate or higher qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Disability, Mental Health or a related field is desirable.

Relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.

Desirable

- Experience working with First Nations communities in the Northern Territory.

- Experience working in remote or regional communities.

- Experience supporting people with complex or multiple support needs.

- Experience working with psychosocial disability.

- Knowledge of Northern Territory community services and local support networks.
