About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and motivated Concrete Panel Finishing Tradesmen to join our site works team, specialising in the finishing, rectification and presentation of architectural precast concrete panels.
This is a hands-on role suited to tradesmen who take pride in producing a high-quality finish and have a strong understanding, (or desire to learn) of architectural precast concrete. You will be responsible for completing finishing works on installed concrete panels, ensuring surfaces meet the required architectural, structural and aesthetic standards.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Architectural Panel Patching
- Completing patching works across a range of architectural concrete finishes, including:
- Polished
- Sand-blasted
- Acid-etched
- Off-form
- Grey
- Blending repaired areas into surrounding surfaces to minimise visible repairs.
- Working from drawings, specifications, finish schedules and site instructions where required.
Caulking & Sealant Works
- Installing backing rod and application/finishing of caulking and sealants to precast concrete panel joints.
- Preparing joints and surfaces prior to application.
- Ensuring consistent joint profiles, neat finishes and appropriate adhesion.
- Removing excess sealant and maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
- Identifying and rectifying defective or damaged sealant work.
Grouting
- Completing grout works associated with precast concrete panel installation.
- Preparing areas for grouting and ensuring surfaces are appropriately cleaned and prepared.
- Mixing and applying grout in accordance with product requirements and project specifications (dry-pack, cementitious and epoxy grouts).
- Achieving neat, consistent finishes whilst achieving structural specification.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience in precast concrete, concrete finishing, architectural concrete or a similar construction trade.
- Robust practical skills in caulking and grouting.
- Construction industry experience.
- Relevant construction safety qualifications, including White Card
- Ability to safely perform manual and repetitive work.
- Ability to work at heights where required.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Appropriate licences/tickets for any equipment required on site, such as EWP, where applicable.
Site-Based Role
This is a site works position, with work undertaken on construction sites and completed precast structures.
You will be expected to:
- Maintain a safe and tidy work zones.
- Follow site safety procedures and project requirements.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship.
- Represent the company professionally while working on client and construction sites.
