Warrikal is a energetic, ambitious, majority Aboriginal-owned, business that has rapidly emerged as a formidable force in the resources and mining sector in WA. The company has established itself as a leading provider of maintenance, shutdown, and specialised project services, cementing its reputation as a trusted and efficient provider.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Shutdown Manager to join our growing Maintenance & Shutdowns team in a newly created role.
This is an opportunity for a proven operational leader to take ownership of major shutdown and maintenance programs, leading teams through every stage of delivery, from planning and mobilisation through to execution, close-out, and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the relevant Client Manager, you'll play a critical role in driving safe, efficient, and commercially successful outcomes across multiple operational sites. You'll work closely with operational leaders, support high-performing teams, and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure shutdowns are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standard.
If you enjoy leading from the front, solving complex challenges, and creating environments where people and performance thrive, this could be the next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shutdown planning, mobilisation, execution, and demobilisation activities.
- Ensure shutdown readiness through effective planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Deliver shutdowns safely while achieving productivity, quality, schedule, and budget targets.
- Monitor progress and critical path activities, implementing recovery plans where required.
- Lead and develop Superintendents, Coordinators, Supervisors, and site leadership teams.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale shutdowns, maintenance programs, or major projects in Australia.
- An Australian recognised trade qualification, engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification.
- 7+ years' experience in senior leadership roles within the mining and resources sector.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams across multiple work fronts.
- Strong knowledge of shutdown planning, scheduling, mobilisation, execution, and close-out.
- Proven experience managing budgets, resources, and operational performance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- A sound understanding of HSEQ, QA/QC, and risk management systems.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Why Warrikal
This is that rare opportunity to join an exceptional company at a pivotal time, whilst working within an environment that values growth and rewards contribution. If you're a natural leader who enjoys solving complex workforce challenges and building strong customer relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
