About the Role
Zenith Energy is looking for an experienced Risk and Change Lead to join our Projects team and support the effective management of project risk and scope change across our portfolio of capital projects.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will lead risk and change management processes across assigned projects, working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary project teams to identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies and ensure material risks are appropriately managed and escalated.
You will also oversee project scope change processes, coordinating impact assessments across cost, schedule, engineering, procurement, construction, quality, risk and operational readiness to ensure changes are appropriately evaluated, approved, communicated and incorporated into project controls.
Based at our Rivervale head office, this role provides the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of energy projects and play an important role in strengthening project governance and delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain project risk and change management processes across assigned capital projects.
- Facilitate risk identification workshops and reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain project risk registers, assessing likelihood, consequence, mitigation actions and residual risk.
- Monitor risk mitigation actions, risk owners and due dates, escalating material risks and emerging issues where required.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities and work with project teams to develop practical responses and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards and trend analysis for project management and governance forums.
- Manage project change registers from identification through to approval and close-out.
- Ensure proposed scope changes are clearly defined, documented and appropriately assessed prior to approval.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary change impact assessments across cost, schedule, engineering, procurement, construction, quality, risk and operational readiness.
- Assess the cumulative impact of proposed and approved changes across projects.
- Facilitate change approvals through established project governance processes and ensure approved changes are reflected in budgets, schedules, forecasts and reporting.
- Monitor risk and change trends and support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, templates and reporting tools.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on risk and change management processes and governance requirements.
About You
You are an experienced project qualified with a strong background in project risk, project controls, change management, project governance or project delivery within complex capital project environments.
You bring a structured and analytical approach to risk and change management and are comfortable working across multidisciplinary project teams to support effective project governance and delivery.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in project risk management, project controls, project governance, change management or project delivery.
- Experience working on large-scale capital projects within energy, mining, construction, infrastructure or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating risk assessments and workshops, managing project risk and change processes,
and coordinating multidisciplinary change impact assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess impacts and develop practical mitigation and change management solutions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organisational levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and competency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Construction Management, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- Experience with project controls or risk management software will be highly regarded.
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights are required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Certificate and medical clearance.
