Braycon Projects
Gold Coast
About the role
Tired of doing the same thing, on the same site, every day of every week?
Braycon Projects is a family-owned Gold Coast building and construction company, and we’re looking for a full-time multi-skilled carpenter to come on board — long term.
We’re not a volume builder and we’re not a one-trick shop. Our work is deliberately varied — commercial and residential, new work and remedial, straightforward jobs alongside jobs that make you stop and properly think about how you’re going to pull them off.
One week you might be framing and fixing out a residential renovation. The next you could be in a club or hotel site doing structural repairs, hanging fire doors, propping a roof, or building a lookout out in the hinterland. If you like having a problem to solve and taking pride in a job that wasn’t easy, you’ll do well here.
Our jobs come through a mix of direct clients, builders, property and facilities managers, and insurance and restoration work. Most of it sits between the Gold Coast, northern NSW around Tweed, and Logan through to southern Brisbane, with the occasional run out to the hinterland. We’re Gold Coast based, we travel within reason, and you’ll be home each night.
Key responsibilities
• Carpentry across the board — framing, fixing, decks, stairs and balustrades, doors and hardware, joinery and fit-out
• Commercial maintenance, repairs and remedial works — clubs, hotels, gyms, offices and industrial sites
• Residential — renovations, extensions, bathrooms, external and grounds work
• Structural and temporary works — propping, rectification and repairs, often working alongside engineers
• Damage rectification — termite and water damage, leak investigations and reinstatement
• Fire doors and fire protection works
• External works — roofing, fascia, cladding and sheeting, fencing
• The one-offs — anchoring systems, lookouts, sauna and steam rooms, custom builds. The jobs that don’t fit a category are often the best ones
• Read and interpret plans and specifications, work to a scope, and think a job through before picking up a tool
• Maintain a safety-first approach and sound WH&S; practice on every site
About you
Essential
• Certificate III in Carpentry or higher
• Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Current driver’s licence and your own reliable transport
• Your own essential trade kit, including basic hand tools and basic power tools
• Full Australian working rights
Highly regarded
• EWP high risk licence — preferred, but not essential
• Skills across other trades — if you can turn your hand to a bit of everything, you’ll get far more out of this role. Not essential, but we value it and we’ll back you to get better at it
• Any other tickets or licences — working at heights, confined space, asbestos awareness, first aid, forklift. All highly attractive
The sort of tradesman we’re after
• Comfortable moving between commercial and residential sites and adjusting how you work to suit
• Reliable, punctual, honest and self-motivated
• Able to run your own work front or work in with a small team
• Excellent communication skills and the patience to deal professionally with clients, other trades and team members
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Benefits
• $48–52 per hour + super, depending on experience and what you bring. That rate is inclusive of the industry and tool allowances under the Building and Construction General On-site Award — it is not the award minimum dressed up. The top of the band is for a genuine all-rounder who can run their own work front, and we review it as you grow with us
• Daily travel allowance paid on top of your hourly rate, as per the award
• Full-time, ongoing work — not project-to-project, and not seasonal
• Home every night — no camps, no away work
• All major plant, access equipment, specialist gear and consumables supplied — you bring your own basic kit, we cover the rest
• Real variety — you won’t be stuck doing the same repetitive task for months on end
• Support to pick up extra tickets and broaden your skills
• A small team where your input is actually heard and good work gets noticed
• The chance to grow with us. We’re expanding, and the people who help us do it are the people we want stepping up into more responsibility
About us
Braycon is family owned and family run. We were founded on the Gold Coast in 2024, but there’s more than 18 years of industry experience behind the business. We bring an old-school work ethic to modern construction: reliable, professional, and properly finished. That’s how we’ve grown, and it’s what we hire for.
Most of our work comes from word of mouth, repeat clients, and working closely with other trade professionals who trust the way we operate — not from relying on constant advertising like some others. We’ve built a solid base of commercial and residential clients across the Gold Coast off the back of doing good work, communicating properly, and doing what we say we’ll do.
Being family run isn’t a line we’ve dropped in to sound nice; it changes how the job actually feels day to day. You’ll deal directly with the people who own the business, not a manager three steps removed from the tools. If something isn’t working on site, you tell us and we sort it. If you think there’s a better way to do a job, we want to hear it. We look after our people — paid properly and on time, every week, gear that works, and backed when a job goes sideways, because now and then they do.
What we ask back is commitment: turn up, do positive work, and look after our clients and each other. Do that and you’ll be treated as one of ours for as long as you want to be here.
We’re not looking to fill a gap for six months. We’re after a tradesman who wants to plant themselves somewhere for the long haul, take on more responsibility as the business grows, and be part of building something rather than just turning up to it.
If you’re a dependable all-rounder who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing quality work, and wants to grow with a company that values hard work and integrity, we’d like to hear from you. Hit Apply with your resume and a short note about the work you’ve done, what you’re looking for, and why you think you’d be a good fit for the Braycon team.
