About the role

This is a pivotal role in generating revenue via additional patient activity and efficiency, via list optimisation, for the Hospital. The post-holder will build strong relationships and work effectively with a range of important stakeholders including visiting medical officers (VMO’s), their Practice Managers & staff, patients and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

- Execute ad-hoc allocations ensuring all stakeholders are aware

- Support the DDON Perioperative Services to identify and manage leads to proactively pursue targeted Specialists

- Proactively seek future utilisation in order to support productivity of procedural services

- Manage obstetric and robot allocations

- Compile and distribute allocation of ad-hoc availability for Main Theatre, CVIL, Endoscopy, Short Stay Unit and Subiaco Eye Hospital

- Proactively build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with procedural VMO’s and their Practices

- Manage orientation and on-boarding processes to support newly accredited surgical specialist practice staff

- Be a conduit for both VMOs and procedural services to foster effective communication of desired outcome

- Demonstrate solid customer service focus for VMO’s and other key stakeholders





- Foster transparent communication with other relevant departments

- Develop strong collegial relationships with other managers and caregivers

- Maintain transparency between theatre booking information and procedural services across the patient journey

- Monitor the quality and accuracy of data

- Maintain a register and calendar of leave dates for visiting medical officers (VMOs)

- Support the Deputy Director of Nursing (Perioperative Services) with managing the efficiency and usage rates of theatres and allocations of permanent sessions

- Patient flow (CCC tasks)

You will possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience preferably in a health care setting with Admissions, scheduling and/or bookings. You will also have a demonstrated ability to build collaborative and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To succeed you will have well-developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a workload to meet operational deadlines. A good working knowledge and experience in the use of computerized patient booking systems and all Microsoft applications is essential.

- Salary: $105,044 to $108,868 per annum plus 12% superannuation

- A permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week
