The role & you:

- Lead RAAFA’s injury prevention, workforce conditioning and early clinical intervention function.
- Establish and manage risk-based pre-employment musculoskeletal and functional assessments for identified high-risk roles.
- Review and strengthen pre-employment health screening in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.




- Establish physical fitness-for-work pathways and functional assessment standards.
- Undertake job-task analyses, ergonomic assessments and risk assessments to identify and reduce musculoskeletal injury risk.
- Responsible for the clinical management of Early Intervention (EI) cases, including same-day or rapid assessment, treatment, functional assessment, clinical recommendations, referral and monitoring of injury recovery.
- Provide clinical advice to the Claims Manager regarding whether an EI case is recovering as expected or requires escalation to the workers’ compensation pathway.
- Develop and deliver an evidence-based Worker Support/Workforce Conditioning Program focused on strength, mobility, resilience, slips/trips/falls prevention and fitness for work.
- Redesign and deliver the manual tasks program, including the delivery of targeted 1:1 education following injury or extended absence.
- Partner with onsite Allied Health teams to identify injury risks and implement prevention initiatives.
- Analyse EI, MSD and injury data to identify trends by role, site, task and mechanism.
- Develop targeted prevention initiatives for high-risk occupations and locations.
- Measure the effectiveness of prevention programs, including EI frequency, EI-to-claim conversion and injury recurrence.
- Undertake ad hoc duties as directed by the Work, Health and Safety Manager and provide support and cover for key WHS programs and initiatives in the absence of the Work, Health and Safety Manager.
- Responsibility to comply with all RAAFA Policies and Procedures and all reasonable management directions.

About you:

- Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and registered with AHPRA.
- Knowledge of and experience in WHS and/or Injury Management practices.




- Demonstrated previous experience in a hands-on role with a good understanding of musculoskeletal injuries and their clinical management and treatment.
- Ability to establish individual injury management plans in consultation with key stakeholders and tailored to the employee’s current and changing presentation.
- Ability to deliver injury prevention and wellbeing initiatives and activities to a broad range of employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively to influence positive outcomes with managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
- Experience in the use of Injury management software e.g. Solv is desirable.
