Take Your Trade Beyond the Workshop

Want to take your trade out of the workshop and into the field?

Join KRSP’s Power Generation Upgrade Program and work across the Kimberley on remote power stations, tackling hands-on electrical work in locations few get to experience and playing a key role in delivering reliable power to communities that depend on it every day.

About the role

KRSP is seeking a qualified, skilled and motivated Electrician to join our Power Generation Upgrade Program.

Working alongside a Mechanical Fitter/Diesel Fitter, you will support the removal, refurbishment, installation, testing and commissioning of power generation assets at isolated diesel power stations throughout the Kimberley.

This role is suited to an Electrician who is comfortable working in remote locations, can operate safely with a high level of independence and takes pride in delivering reliable electrical works in essential service environments.

If you have experience in any of the following, we want to hear from you:

- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

- Work with generator control and monitoring systems, including ComAp controllers.
- Complete electrical testing, commissioning and fault finding.
- Support fault-finding and rectification activities during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant standards, regulations, site procedures and safety requirements.
- Complete testing, inspection records, commissioning sheets, project documentation and reporting using computer-based systems.
- Work closely with Mechanical Fitters/Diesel Fitters to complete generator change-outs safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety, housekeeping and compliance while working in remote and isolated environments.
- Work with minimal supervision as part of a small team, often in locations with limited support services.

Location and roster

This role operates on a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) basis from Broome to remote Kimberley communities.

- Kimberley residents are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates willing to relocate to the region are supported.
- Fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) options are available for applicants outside the Kimberley.

Typical roster: 18 days on / 10 days off.

Given the nature and location of KRSP’s work, candidates must be flexible with roster cycles, travel requirements and the demands of working in isolated remote communities.
