About the role

Quickturn Machining is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trades Assistant to join our team in Malaga, WA. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent chance to develop your skills in the trades sector whilst supporting experienced tradespeople in a dynamic manufacturing environment. As a Trades Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop, gaining hands-on experience across various trades activities and contributing to the delivery of high-quality machining solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Assist experienced tradespeople with the setup, operation and maintenance of CNC Machines

- Prepare work areas with materials for daily operations, ensuring a safe and organised workspace

- Support the completion of machining projects, following technical drawings and specifications

- Perform general labouring duties, including material handling, cleaning and waste management

- Assist with the assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting of components and equipment

- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used

- Adhere to all workplace health and safety standards and procedures

- Learn and develop practical skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced staff

What we're looking for

- Strong willingness to learn and develop practical skills in the trades sector

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks in a workshop environment

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and specifications

- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Reliability, punctuality and a positive, proactive attitude towards work





- Basic numeracy and literacy skills

- A valid manual driver's licence

- Previous experience in a trades or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential

- Current or willingness to obtain relevant certifications or qualifications in the trades

- An Allrounder that is willing to learn

- Permanent Australian resident with full working rights
