Tax Accountant

Mercury Financial Group is seeking an Accountant to join our team in Queanbeyan. The role would fit an Intermediate Accountant looking to step up to the next level. Offering exposure to a broad client base and the opportunity to grow within a supportive, people-focused firm. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for a range of taxation and accounting services to our diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful firm of people - not just accountants.

Key Responsibilities and duties:

• Preparing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies

• Preparing financial statements for business entities

• Prepare BAS and IAS

• Assist clients with BAS, GST, and payroll compliance





• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients

The successful candidate should have:

• Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in a public accounting firm

• Robust communication skills

• Attention to detail

• A genuine team player who enjoys working alongside others and supporting shared goals

• Experience with Handisoft desirable but not essential
