Love solving mechanical problems and want your weekends back? We’re looking for an experienced Mechanic to join a local government team in Belmont on a short-term opportunity.
If you’re confident diagnosing faults, working across trucks, trailers, cars and small machinery, and enjoy a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s on offer

- $60 per hour + our fee
- Monday to Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm
- No weekend work
- 15-minute morning tea + 30-minute lunch
- Approximately 3-month assignment
- Local government environment in Belmont

What you’ll be doing

- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across a range of vehicles and equipment
- Working on trucks, trailers, cars and small machinery
- Servicing and maintaining mowers, whipper snippers and other grounds equipment
- Mechanical fault-finding and preventative maintenance
- Carrying out general repairs and maintenance
- Assisting with minor fabrication and welding work
- Ensuring vehicles and equipment are protected, reliable and ready for use

What we’re looking for





- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding experience
- Experience working across trucks, trailers, cars and small machinery
- Experience with mowers, whipper snippers and similar equipment
- Some fabrication/welding experience
- Current car and truck licences
- Trade Certified Mechanic
- Reliable, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
- Available for approximately 3 months
