The Opportunity Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Medical Specialist to take on a senior clinical leadership position as Clinical Director – Geriatric, Rehabilitation & Palliative Care Medicine within one of Victoria’s leading regional health services.
This is an exceptional opportunity to combine clinical leadership, service development and medical education while maintaining up to 50% clinical practice within your area of specialty.
You will provide strategic and clinical leadership across Geriatric Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine and Palliative Care, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer, executive leadership, Medical Workforce and other Clinical Directors.
This is a role with genuine influence over the future direction of services, workforce development, clinical governance and specialist training.
The Role As Clinical Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership across a broad and evolving clinical portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:

- Providing clinical and strategic leadership across Geriatric, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care services
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment and retention
- Leading clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Contributing to service planning and development
- Working collaboratively with senior medical, nursing and allied health leaders
- Supporting the development of high-performing multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining a significant clinical component within your specialty
- Contributing to medical education and career development
- Supporting registrar training and supervision
- Building strong relationships with university and specialist college partners

Education & Training The position has a strong focus on medical education and specialist training.




You will have the opportunity to:

- Support the education of Monash University medical students
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Take responsibility as Director of Training for the Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program
- Supervise and mentor registrars and junior medical staff
- Contribute to continuing career development and clinical education

About You To be considered, you will have:

- Fellowship of an appropriate Australian specialist medical college, or equivalent
- Unconditional specialist registration with AHPRA

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
