The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony’s strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open‑pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
We are seeking an experienced Training Advisor to coordinate and enhance training and competency systems to ensure employees and contractors are properly trained, assessed, and compliant with relevant requirements. You will support the planning, delivery, and monitoring of training programs, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure workforce capability meets operational and regulatory needs.
Roster:
This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6 days FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver underground and surface training,
inductions and mandatory refresher programs in line with site and operational requirements.
- Conduct competency assessments and maintain accurate training records to support compliance and workforce capability.
- Support partnerships with RTOs to coordinate nationally recognised training and competency development.
- Maintain and support Learning Management Systems, training matrices and workforce training data.
- Assist in the development and administration of eLearning and digital training content.
- Promote safe work practices and support hazard awareness, risk management and emergency response training.
- Assist with the development, review and continuous improvement of training materials, procedures and documentation.
- Provide coaching and support to workers and supervisors to address training and competency requirements.
- Maintain training documentation, assessments and records within required systems and timeframes.
- Work collaboratively with Training Advisors and site departments to support training delivery and operational requirements.
About You:
To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher).
- Demonstrated vocational competency relevant to metalliferous underground mining operations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to present information clearly,
coach individuals and engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to develop, review or adapt training materials and learning resources to support operational requirements.
- Ability to adjust training approaches to suit different learning styles and individual learner needs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate training activities and maintain accurate training records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational departments to support workforce capability and training outcomes.
