About the role

Liberty Trading is expanding its business across both the Australian market and exports to China, with a focus on baby and parenting products, FMCG, agricultural and food products.

We are looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager with strong market development capabilities to develop new customers, expand sales channels and identify new business opportunities.

You will be joining the company at an early stage of growth, working directly with management and having the opportunity to grow with the business.

Key responsibilities

- Develop new customers across retail, pharmacy, baby products, wholesale and distribution channels

- Build relationships with Buyers, Category Managers, distributors and other key decision-makers

- Develop business opportunities across major retailers, independent retailers and e-commerce channels

- Present products, negotiate commercial terms and convert opportunities into orders

- Build and manage a solid sales pipeline

- Maintain and develop long-term customer and commercial relationships

About you

- Experience in Sales, Business Development or Account Management

- Experience in FMCG, consumer products, retail, wholesale, distribution or e-commerce

- Proven ability to identify and develop new customers and commercial opportunities

- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

- Good understanding of the Australian retail and distribution market





- For more experienced candidates, an established network across Australian retail, wholesale, major supermarket and distribution channels will be highly regarded, particularly existing relationships with Buyers, Category Managers and other key decision-makers

- Experience with e-commerce platforms and online sales channels will be highly regarded

- Knowledge of the Australian dairy, milk powder, oats, flour and broader agricultural and food products sectors, together with established relationships with relevant producers, processors and suppliers and the ability to identify and develop new sourcing opportunities, will be a strong advantage

- Experience launching new products or brands into the Australian market, or successfully growing brands in Australia, will also be highly regarded
