About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Fitter to join our Narangba Operations team.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving plant equipment to ensure our production facility operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Working closely with Production and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
This role is predominantly night shift, with employees rotating to another shift as part of the roster every few weeks. You will need to be comfortable working night shift and able to adapt to the rotating roster.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs to minimise downtime.
- Install, repair, and maintain production equipment and machinery.
- Perform fabrication, welding, and general fitting work as required.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Complete maintenance work safely in accordance with site procedures and permit systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Production and Maintenance teams to support safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
About You
You are a qualified Maintenance Fitter who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in your work,
and is committed to maintaining a safe and reliable manufacturing environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- Trade qualifications as a Fitter and Turner or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Robust communication and teamwork skills are important.
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is important.
- A willingness and ability to work predominantly night shift and rotate to other shifts every few weeks.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Guardian.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
- Experience in food, feed, or process manufacturing.
- Five or more years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
