About the role:

We are offering an exciting prospect for an enthusiastic and driven Mechanical fitters to join our team!!

This role is for a 7 on 7 off mechanical fitter role in an Almond in a processing facility,

Key Responsibilities

- Perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs on production equipment, including conveyors, elevators, hullers, shellers, sorters, blanchers, dryers, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, and packaging machinery.

- Diagnose mechanical faults quickly and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production continuity.

- Assist with equipment installations, alignments, changeovers, setups, and commissioning of new or modified machinery.

- Conduct inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements in accordance with maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders (CMMS experience preferred).

- Identify opportunities for reliability improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing breakdowns and increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and other trades teams to support operational goals.





- Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety (WHS), Good Manufacturing Practice and food safety standards.

- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, particularly around food-contact equipment (stainless steel fabrication/welding experience highly regarded).

- Participate in shutdowns, overtime, and call-outs as required.

ROSTER:

7days on 7 days off ongoing roster alternating days/nights (1 swing of days/ 1 swing of nights)

Skills and experience:

- Mechanical fitter experience and qualification

- LV or HD mechanics can also apply and will be looked on favorably

- Good work ethic and attitude

- full Australian working rights

Qualifications and licenses:

- Mechanical trades qualification

- forklift ticket

- EWP Ticket

- white card

- first aid certificate (NOT ESSENTIAL)

- Medical (can be obtained)
