Role & Responsibilities:
As a part-time Junior School Specialist Teacher in Art at Toorak College, you will demonstrate:

- A strong commitment to excellence in education, with experience, flair and passion for Art;
- A proven capacity for innovative, creative and engaging teaching practice;
- The ability to develop inspiring Art learning experiences that encourage students to explore, experiment and express themselves;
- An ability to differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs, abilities and interests of students;
- A commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, curiosity and a positive approach to learning; and
- A desire to work collaboratively within a high-performing and collegial teaching team.

The focus of this position is the teaching of Art across the Junior School (P–6), at 0.74 FTE. The teaching allocation will be determined according to the successful candidate’s expertise, experience and the College’s operational requirements. The position is worked Monday and Wednesday to Friday, with Tuesdays not required.

You are passionate about Art and enjoy inspiring young students to explore their creativity and develop confidence in their own ideas and abilities. You will bring enthusiasm, strong subject knowledge and an engaging approach to the classroom, creating a positive environment where students feel encouraged to take creative risks, experiment and express themselves. You will be an educator who understands the important role the Arts play in developing well-rounded, confident and curious young people and who is committed to providing meaningful and engaging learning experiences for every student.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Degree qualified in Primary Education, with relevant qualification in Art education.
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is essential.
- Demonstrated experience for teaching Art within a Primary School setting.
- Excellent communication skills and strong ability to connect with and motivate students.
- A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice.
- A commitment to collaborative practice and ongoing professional learning.
