About the role

Penrith Women's Health Centre is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) Case Worker to join our Safety and Empowerment Services team. This is a senior practitioner role delivering complex DFV case management and supporting safe, consistent and high-quality service delivery across the team. The role works with women and their children to improve safety, stability and wellbeing through a trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths-based approach. You will be part of a small, dedicated team providing a range of safety and empowerment services, including case management, advocacy, referral coordination, education and practical supports, while also contributing to practice leadership, mentoring and intake support.

POSITION DETAILS

- Full-time (38 hours per week)

- SCHADs level 5.1

- Fixed-term until 30 June 2030

- Location: Penrith

Key responsibilities

- Manage a caseload including complex and higher-risk presentations

- Share knowledge and provide guidance to DFV Case Workers

- Support Manager Safety Empowerment Services in the intake, triage and escalation of high-risk matters

- Contribute to consistent, high-quality and culturally safe service delivery across the team

- Provide informal support, guidance and practice-based assistance to less experienced staff

About you

- Degree level qualifications in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, community services, welfare or related discipline, and at least 3 years DFV sector experience

- Demonstrated sector experience working with women and children impacted by domestic and family violence

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex casework, risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and coordinated support





- Demonstrated ability to provide informal support, guidance and practice-based assistance to less experienced staff

- Strong understanding of trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based and culturally appropriate practice

- High-level communication, documentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders

- Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities

- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy, mandatory reporting and qualified boundaries in DFV practice

- Must be legally entitled to work in Australia

- Current National Police Check and Current NSW Working With Children Check
