- Part Time - 48 hours per fortnight (Permanent)

- $26.96 per hour (initial 3 months), progressing to $28.16 per hour + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefits

Western District Health Service is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Food & Domestic Assistant to join our team at Penshurst.
This varied and rewarding role supports the delivery of quality food services and housekeeping across our healthcare environment. Working as part of our dedicated Hospitality Services team, you will help ensure patients, residents, visitors and staff receive excellent service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and infection control.
Whether preparing meals, delivering food services or maintaining clean and protected environments, your work will make a valuable contribution to the wellbeing and comfort of our consumers every day.
What You'll Be Doing
Food Service & Preparation
Assist with basic food preparation, including sandwiches, vegetables, meal assembly and presentation, while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Meal Delivery & Support
Provide meal services to patients and residents, ensuring meals are delivered accurately, efficiently and with exceptional customer service.
Domestic & Cleaning Services
Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment by cleaning patient rooms, resident rooms, communal areas and other facility spaces in accordance with infection prevention and control standards.
Customer Service Excellence
Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, residents, visitors and colleagues, contributing to a positive experience for everyone accessing our services.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to support the smooth operation of food and domestic services across the campus.
Quality & Safety
Follow organisational policies, food safety standards, infection control procedures and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
What You Bring
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (desirable)
- Experience in food services, hospitality, cleaning or healthcare environments (desirable)
- Ability to undertake physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting and pushing meal carts
- Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current NDIS Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Rights to work in Australia
