Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) is looking for an experienced and collaborative Manager, Enterprise and Employment Services to lead and grow our employment and enterprise portfolio.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys both building programs and making them work in practice.

You will initially lead two key areas of work: Business Connect and the establishment of our Wentworthville Cottage as a place-based employment and enterprise hub. From there, you will work with communities, partners and the CMRC leadership team to co-design and develop new initiatives that strengthen economic participation and financial independence for migrants, refugees and multicultural communities.

The Cottage has a particular priority on supporting multicultural women and will provide a base for employment, enterprise, training, mentoring, networking and other pathways to opportunity.

About the role

Reporting to the Deputy CEO and working as part of CMRC's leadership team, you will have significant responsibility for shaping how this area of work develops.

You will:

- Lead the design and co-design of employment and enterprise programs with communities and partners;

- Oversee the delivery, quality, evaluation and continuous improvement of Business Connect, the Wentworthville Cottage and emerging programs;

- Establish the Cottage as an active, welcoming and well-used employment and enterprise hub;

- Build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, business networks, government, councils, community organisations and other stakeholders;

- Identify opportunities to grow and diversify the portfolio through grants, tenders, contracts and partnerships;

- Manage program budgets, resources, risks and contractual requirements;

- Lead contractors, student placements, volunteers and employees as the team grows; and

- Contribute directly to workshops, participant support and employment or enterprise activities when needed.

This is a hands-on management position. In the early stages,



the successful applicant will need to be comfortable moving between program development, partnerships, management and direct delivery. As the portfolio and team grow, the role will increasingly focus on leadership, development and oversight.

Employment Status

Status: Full-time | 35 hours per week

Salary: SCHADS Award - Level 6, Pay Point 1 (Salary packaging available)

12-month fixed-term contract, with a view to extension

About you

We are looking for someone who combines strong program management skills with an understanding of what it takes to create meaningful employment and enterprise pathways.

You will bring:

- Substantial experience in employment services and/or enterprise, business development or small-business support;

- Demonstrated experience managing and operationalising programs, projects or a significant service area;

- Experience working effectively with migrant, refugee and multicultural communities and a strong understanding of culturally responsive practice;

- Experience designing and improving programs, ideally using consultation or co-design approaches;

- Strong partnership-building skills across government, community, industry and other sectors;

- Experience contributing to grants, tenders, funding proposals or the development of new services;

- Experience supervising and developing staff, contractors, volunteers or other team members;

- Confidence managing budgets, contractual requirements, program outcomes and risk; and

- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.

You do not need to come with deep experience across both employment and enterprise. We are interested in candidates with strong experience in either area who have the leadership,



program-development and partnership skills to work effectively across the broader area of work.

A relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and expertise, is required.

Experience establishing a new service, program hub or place-based initiative would be highly regarded.

Additional requirements

The successful applicant will require:

- a current Working with Children Check;

- a current National Police Check; and

- capacity to travel between CMRC sites, community venues and external meetings.

Occasional evening and weekend work and travel within NSW will be required.

A current Australian driver licence is desirable.
