Full-Time Payroll Officer

Kal Tire Australia is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our friendly, high-performing national payroll team on a 6-12 month maternity leave contract.

About the Role
In this role, you will support the end-to-end delivery of payroll for more than 200 employees across Australia. You will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements, while also contributing to ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing
- Reviewing and validating timesheets and labour cost allocations
- Maintaining accurate employee payroll records
- Conducting payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Preparing end-of-month reporting, including multi-state Payroll Tax and Coal Long Service Leave reporting
- Responding to payroll enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assisting with payroll system and process improvements
- Supporting general payroll administration, including employment documentation and travel bookings
About You
You take pride in delivering accurate payroll outcomes and enjoy being part of a collaborative team environment.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of 200+ employees
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation requirements, and compliance obligations
- Experience interpreting and applying awards, enterprise agreements, and National Employment Standards (NES)
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working across payroll systems
- Robust written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using UKG Ready and/or Payroll Metrics (highly regarded)
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
