About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team at West Coast Trade Services in Perth, WA 6000. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on varied and challenging carpentry projects across the Perth metropolitan area. As a Carpenter, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality joinery and construction work that meets our clients' exacting standards. You will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing your expertise to projects of varying scales and complexities. What you'll be doing

- Measuring, marking, and cutting timber and other materials to precise specifications

- Assembling and installing timber frameworks, cabinetry, and bespoke joinery pieces

- Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete carpentry tasks

- Fitting and installing doors, windows, skirting boards, shelving, and other timber components

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately

- Preparing surfaces and undertaking finishing work such as sanding, staining, and varnishing

- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met and specifications are adhered to

- Liaising with clients, site supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project delivery

- Maintaining work areas in a safe and tidy condition,



adhering to health and safety regulations

- Transporting materials and equipment to job sites as required

What we're looking for

- A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship completed (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Australian qualification)

- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and portable machinery used in carpentry work

- Strong knowledge of timber types, joinery techniques, and cabinet-making practices

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

- Experience with both residential and commercial carpentry projects

- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices on site

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities

- A valid driving licence and own transport for travel to job sites

- Preferred: Experience with bespoke or high-end joinery work, knowledge of relevant software such as CAD, or specialist skills in areas such as window installation or heritage carpentry
