Risk Assurance Manager

Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a respected Australian financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Risk Assurance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation undergoing continued investment in its governance, risk and compliance framework. Reporting into a senior risk leader, you will play a key role in developing and executing assurance activities across operational, regulatory and technology-related risk obligations.
Working across the business, you will help strengthen the control workplace, provide independent challenge and support the ongoing maturity of risk management practices.

The Opportunity
You will lead and coordinate a risk-based controls assurance program, partnering with stakeholders across risk, compliance, technology, operations and internal audit functions.
Key responsibilities include:

- Designing and delivering a risk-based controls testing and assurance program
- Assessing the effectiveness of key controls and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Monitoring remediation activities and supporting timely closure of control gaps
- Providing guidance on control design and control uplift initiatives
- Supporting assurance activities relating to operational risk, technology risk and regulatory compliance obligations




- Preparing assurance reporting for senior management and governance committees
- Maintaining accurate records of controls, testing outcomes and action plans within the organisation's risk management framework

About You
To be successful, you will bring:

- Experience gained within risk, compliance, controls assurance, internal audit or operational risk
- Exposure to APRA-regulated environments such as banking, insurance, superannuation or broader financial services
- Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks
- Experience conducting controls testing, assurance reviews or internal audits
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional certifications in risk, audit, compliance or accounting

Experience with technology risk, cyber security controls, operational resilience or APRA prudential standards would be highly regarded.
