About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This a rewarding opportunity to support our residents maintain their communication, swallowing and overall quality of life across our residential aged care facilities.

As a valued member of our clinical team, you will work closely with residents, families, nurses and other allied health professionals and care staff to deliver person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.

This role is available one day per week – this can be worked across one whole day or two part days.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess and manage swallowing (dysphagia) and communication difficulties.

- Develop and implement evidence based therapy and management plans.

- Conduct mealtime and swallowing assessments and provide recommendations to support safe eating and drinking.

- Provide education and training to residents, families and care staff.

- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary clinical team.

- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports.

- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and best practice aged care services.

Key Role Requirements:

- Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology.

- Certified Practising Membership with Speech Pathology Australia.

- Demonstrated previous experience working within an aged care workplace.

- Strong knowledge of functional communication and swallowing assessments.

- A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to our residents.

- Ability to work with a high level of independence and autonomy.

- Current National Police Clearance.

- Working rights within Australia.
