The Company
Our client is a well-established Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory firm with a long-standing reputation for providing high-quality advice and building trusted relationships with their clients.
With an established team and supportive leadership group, the firm places a strong emphasis on its people and creating a positive, professional and inclusive working setting.
They are now looking for an approachable and capable People & Culture Coordinator to work closely with the Practice Manager, taking ownership of the day-to-day people function while supporting the broader operations of the practice.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role that will see you become a key point of contact for employees across the firm.
Covering the full employee lifecycle, you'll coordinate recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, maintain employment documentation and HR records, support performance reviews and assist employees and management with general HR matters.
Beyond traditional HR coordination, you'll play an important role in the firm's culture and employee experience, coordinating internal communications, staff events, wellbeing initiatives and other activities that bring the team together.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including advertising, shortlisting, interviews and reference checks
- Prepare employment documentation and coordinate onboarding and induction
- Maintain employee records, contracts, HR policies and procedures
- Support performance reviews and probationary review processes
- Coordinate employee training and development activities
- Act as an approachable first point of contact for general HR queries and employee matters
- Assist with leave management, payroll reporting and related administration
- Support compliance with relevant employment, HR, OHS and workplace legislation
- Coordinate internal communications and employee engagement initiatives
- Organise staff functions, social events, wellbeing activities and employee recognition
- Liaise with relevant external providers and third parties
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to support broader people and practice initiatives
- Provide occasional support across reception and administration when required
About You
You'll be approachable and personable while having the maturity and discretion to deal with confidential employee matters. You'll be confident communicating with people at all levels and comfortable working autonomously while partnering closely with senior stakeholders.
You will ideally bring:
- 2+ years' experience within HR or People & Culture
- Experience across recruitment, onboarding and general HR coordination
- An understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- High levels of discretion and confidence handling confidential information
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Previous experience within accounting, legal or another professional services environment (highly regarded)
