Senior Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure
Location: Cairns, QLD
Pay Rate: $94.59 per hour + Super
Contract: 1 October 2026 – 30 September 2028
Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Extensions: Up to 2 x 12-month extensions may be available
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of the Cairns Western Arterial Road Duplication, a significant civil infrastructure project based in Cairns.
Working closely with the Delivery Engineer, you will provide technical and project management expertise across the planning, design, procurement, pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases of the project. You will also assist with contract administration and the coordination of consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Delivery Engineer in managing project resources, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Assist with the delivery of project scope within approved budgets, programs and quality requirements.
- Contribute to project management planning across scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, governance, communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate multiple project sections progressing through different stages of the infrastructure lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, policies, legislation, guidelines and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and manage technical specialists, consultants, contractors and other service providers.
- Support effective risk management, decision-making and continuous improvement throughout project delivery.
- Promote a safe, collaborative and inclusive project environment.
About You To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, ideally within road and/or bridge construction.
- Robust knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and practices.
- Proven supervisory or management experience within the civil infrastructure industry.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex project outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of road construction principles and practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Confidence making decisions in a complex and fast-paced project environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Project Management – required.
- Civil Engineering degree – highly desirable.
- Previous studies and/or experience within an engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience within the civil construction industry.
