Rizi Steel is a small family business who provides a wide range of fabrication work in structural steel, mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel. Our work is diverse, fabricating for recent and renovated houses, architectural bespoke steel and aluminium elements, truck body repairs, crane ties and skip bins just to name a few. You’ll work on a variety of custom projects, so no two days are the same.

Our growing business gives us the competitive edge to provide clients with personalized finishes to customer specifications. Our aim is to provide our customers with high quality products/finishes with a quick, turnaround time. We also specialise in site welding and site installation work of structural steel and aluminium.

With a solid pipeline of work ahead, Rizi Steel is seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd class welder and a labourer to join our growing team.

Qualifications & Experience - 2nd Class Welder
Previous practical welding experience in a steel fabrication or structural steel workshop.
Demonstrated competency in MIG welding (GMAW) of mild steel.
Ability to produce sound, consistent welds suitable for structural and general steel fabrication.
Ability to read and understand workshop drawings, fabrication drawings and basic engineering drawings.
Ability to accurately use:
Tape measures




Squares
Levels
Vernier/calipers where required
Basic fabrication measuring equipment
Competent use of common workshop equipment and power tools, including:
Grinders
Drills
Magnetic drills
Cut-off saws
Oxy/LPG cutting equipment where required
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements applicable to welding and steel fabrication.
Ability to safely handle steel sections, plates and fabricated components.
Ability to follow welding procedures, workshop instructions and supervisor directions.
Ability to perform work to the required dimensions, tolerances and quality standards.
Reliable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a fabrication team.
Site work and overtime required from time to time

Desirable Qualifications / Tickets

The following would be advantageous but are not necessarily essential:
Welding qualification or welding competency certification.
Construction White Card, particularly where site work may be required.
Forklift licence.
EWP licence.
Previous experience in structural steel fabrication.
Previous experience working from structural steel shop drawings.
Current Australian driver's licence.
