Maroona Apiaries is seeking an experienced Head/Senior Apiarist/Beekeeper for an Immediate start. Based at Eulo, QLD

About the Role:
Manage and maintain beehives, ensuring the health and safety of colonies in accordance with "National best management practice for beekeeping in the Australian setting".
Manage hive conditions, control pests and diseases especially Varroa Mite.
Seasonal beehive management including honey harvesting and pollination contracts.
Manage Queen breeding and Nuc Colonies.
Manage harvesting & extract honey.
Maintain records and report on hive performance and health.

Qualifications & Skills:
Prior experience in beekeeping/apiculture in a senior/head role
Extensive knowledge of hive management practices.
Ability to handle bees safely and confidently.
Solid physical fitness and attention to detail.
Experience with Varroa Management
Truck licence (minimum HR)

Requirements:
5+ years commercial beekeeping experience with 2+ years in a senior/head beekeeper position

Pay: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
