EL1 - Assistant Director, Solution Architect
Shape practical, sustainable technology solutions that support Trove and other nationally significant Library services.

Influence how the Library modernises its systems, reduces technical debt and strengthens cyber resilience.

The Library is seeking to fill a ongoing EL1 Assistant Director, Solution Architect role in the Strategy and Architecture Section of the Digital Branch.

The Assistant Director, Solution Architect provides a dedicated point of technical leadership between business needs and delivery. The role helps ensure technology decisions are made consistently, risks are identified early and delivery teams have explicit direction before implementation begins.





We are looking for an experienced solution architect who can work confidently across business and technical teams, exercise sound judgement and turn complex problems into practical, supportable solutions. The ideal applicant will be collaborative, pragmatic and comfortable influencing decisions without over-engineering, with solid experience across applications, integration, cyber and modern technology environments.

To succeed in this role:
Experience across integration, APIs, cloud and hybrid environments, cyber security and digital storage is desirable, along with familiarity with recognised architecture frameworks.
The ideal applicant will bring robust technical judgement, practical delivery experience and the ability to communicate clearly with business and technical stakeholders.
