Job Description

Hestia Joinery is seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker to join our growing team. The successful applicant will manufacture, assemble, install, repair and refurbish high-quality cabinetry and furniture for residential and commercial projects while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Examine drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine job specifications.
n
Select and work with timber, veneers, particle board, synthetic wood and other engineered wood products.
n
Program and operate computer-aided design (CAD) and computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to mark out, cut and shape components.
n
Manufacture cabinets and furniture in accordance with drawings and specifications.
n
Install cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms and commercial fit-out projects.
n
Manufacture fittings for boats, caravans and other projects requiring fine detail.
n
Assemble cabinet and furniture components into completed products.
n
Apply protective coatings and finishes to cabinets and furniture.
n
Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and other associated hardware.
n




Construct frames for chairs, couches and other furniture items.
n
Manufacture reproduction furniture where required.
n
Repair and refurbish furniture, including antique furniture.
n
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and quality standards.

Skills and Qualifications

n

n
Certificate III in Cabinet Making
n
Minimum of One to two years' relevant post-qualification experience as a Cabinet Maker.
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
n
Experience operating woodworking machinery, CAD and CNC equipment.
n
Robust attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
n
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
n
Valuable communication, organisational and time management skills.
n
