Light Fleet Mechanic - Immediate Start

Key Responsibilities

n
Undertake scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of light and heavy vehicles, plant, and small equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
n
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner
n
Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards, roadworthy requirements, and manufacturer guidelines
n
Foster, advocate and implement the City's Customer Service Commitment
n
Through the delivery of outstanding service, establish a reputation of customer service excellence throughout the organisation
n

Workshop Operations

n
Accurately complete service records, work orders, and defect reports
n
Assist in the monitoring of parts usage and advise on stock requirements
n
Operate workshop plant and equipment safely, reporting defects and ensuring correct usage
n
Assist with procurement of all mechanical equipment and spare parts as required




n

Teamwork

n
Work cooperatively with Fleet staff, other City work teams and contractors to minimise downtime
n
Provide advice and feedback on vehicle/plant condition and recommended replacement or disposal
n
Support apprentices or trainees where required, sharing technical knowledge and protected working practices
n

Essential Requirements

n
Strong knowledge of current mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
n
Demonstrated experience servicing and repairing light/heavy vehicles, plant and small equipment.
n
Ability to diagnose faults, determine solutions and complete accurate service documentation.
n
Solid commitment to safety, compliance and environmental standards.
n

Essential Qualifications & Licenses

n
Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent.
n
Current HR-A class driver's licence.
n
Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
n
Current Police Clearance.
n
