Welder Fabricator / Diesel Mechanic/ Fitter for Heavy Vehicles — 6am start, 12pm Friday finish

On the tools at 6am, home by mid-afternoon, and done by midday Friday. Every Friday.

Sick of repetitive repair work? This is fabrication with engineering behind it — suspension conversions and chassis modifications on late-model heavy vehicles.

About the role

n

You'll be cutting, fitting and welding chassis, suspension conversions and custom modifications on predominantly new-model trucks — taking your own measurements and problem-solving as the job goes. It's hands‐on, diverse work for someone mechanically minded, alongside tradesmen with decades of experience.

What you'll need

n

n
Trade qualification in welding/fabrication, or a mechanical/diesel fitting trade
n
2–3+ years in heavy vehicle,



structural or plant fabrication
n
Robust MIG welding
n
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
n
Accurate measuring, marking out and cutting
n
Reliable, punctual, and able to run a job without being chased
n
Genuine commitment to safe work practices
n

Nice to have

n

Truck body building or heavy vehicle modification experience
n
Forklift or overhead crane ticket
n

n

What we offer

$50 – $60 per hour, based on experience
n
6:00am start, 2:30pm finish Monday to Thursday — your afternoons are your own
n
Fridays finish at 12pm — a genuine head start on the weekend, every week
n
Consistent full‐time hours, day shift, no night work

Overtime available as needed
