About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team in Truganina.

n

You will be responsible for keeping our fleet of prime movers and refrigerated trailers secure, reliable and ready for operation.

n

The role is primarily focused on preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding and mechanical repairs, with the goal of minimising breakdowns and keeping the fleet on the road.

n

Key Responsibilities

n
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles and trailers.
n
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and defects.
n
Complete repairs to engines, driveline, brakes, suspension and steering systems.
n
Inspect vehicles and trailers and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
n
Investigate mechanical issues reported by drivers and operations staff.
n
Maintain refrigerated trailers and identify mechanical defects.
n
Ensure all vehicles and trailers remain protected,



roadworthy and compliant.
n
Complete maintenance records and service documentation accurately.
n
Follow all company WHS/OHS and workshop safety procedures.
n
Communicate effectively with the Fleet Manager, Operations team and drivers.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n
A recognised Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.
n
Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
n
Strong preventative maintenance and fault-finding skills.
n
Good knowledge of heavy vehicle braking, suspension, steering and driveline systems.
n
A solid commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
n
A current Australian driver's licence.
