We are looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Splicer to join our growing telecommunications team on the Gold Coast.

n

The Role

n

You'll be responsible for fibre optic installation, splicing, testing and fault finding across a range of telecommunications projects throughout the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

n

Fibre optic splicing and jointing
n
Fibre testing using OTDR and power meter
n
Fibre fault finding and rectification
n
Working in pits, conduits, cabinets and telecommunications infrastructure
n
Reading fibre plans and network diagrams
n
Completing job documentation and test results
n
Working safely and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
n
Liaising with supervisors, clients and other field crews
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
Previous experience as a Fibre Splicer / Fibre Technician
n




Strong knowledge of fibre optic networks
n
Experience with fusion splicing
n
Competent with OTDR and fibre testing equipment
n
Current driver's licence
n
Strong attention to detail
n
Reliable and punctual
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Good communication skills
n

Experience with FTTP, FTTN, HFC or carrier networks
n
NBN experience
n
Relevant telecommunications qualifications
n
Traffic control / working-at-heights tickets
n
Experience with FJL,BJL, multiports, and fibre distribution equipment
n
