About the role
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you'll support the deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Beagle's autonomous harvesting systems. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines in both workshop and field settings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges, learning quickly, and working directly with creative technology.
Key responsibilities
Assist with assembly, testing, and commissioning of robotic harvesting equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues
Support field trials and customer demonstrations at grower locations
Perform preventative maintenance and system calibration
Work closely with engineering teams in Australia and the United States
Document engineering changes, testing procedures, and service reports
Assist with prototype development and product improvements
Provide technical support during customer installations when required
About you
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related discipline
0–3 years of engineering experience
Solid hands-on mechanical aptitude
Basic understanding of electrical wiring, sensors and actuators, PLCs or embedded control systems, and mechanical assemblies
Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork
Fluent in English
