You'll be working with the R&D; department for the Department of Defence (Defence Science Technology Group, DTSG) in Edinburgh.
DSTG is currently supporting research into guided weapons prototyping.

A normal day as a Laboratory technician includes:
Undertake Explosive Ordnance processing activities including EO mixing and casting;
Inert and energetic ingredient preparation;
Maintaining laboratories and manufacturing equipment;
Ensure compliance documentation required for the protected operation of laboratories is in place and current.
Ensure compliance documentation required for the protected operation of the laboratory is in place and current including managing the risks of hazardous chemicals in the workplace
Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and process documentation
