ServiceNow Technical Architect
Location:Canberra, ACT – Hybrid
Contract:12 months plus two 12‐month extension options
Start date:31 August ****
Hours:Up to 40 hours per week
Security requirement:Must be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Architect to support the ongoing administration, development and strategic direction of a major Australian Government ServiceNow platform.
Working alongside internal teams, external vendors and key stakeholders, you will provide architectural guidance while taking a hands‐on role in platform administration, configuration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Provide strategic advice on ServiceNow architecture and platform direction
Lead the administration and ongoing development of the platform
Troubleshoot and resolve platform incidents and technical issues
Deliver minor enhancements and configuration changes
Review technical designs and help prevent technical debt
Advise on licensing, patching and platform upgrade strategies
Support platform security, hardening and development best practices
Manage platform onboarding and access for external vendors
Monitor vendor development quality and compliance
Produce technical, design and security documentation
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, architects and testers
Mentor and upskill internal team members
Communicate technical matters clearly to executives and non‐technical stakeholders
Essential requirements
At least five years' experience administering ServiceNow platforms




Experience or strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Protected Platform
Strong knowledge of ServiceNow concepts and tools, including:Knowledge Management
Flow Designer
Service Bridge
Scripting
Notifications
Strong understanding of IT Service Management principles
Demonstrated troubleshooting and incident‐resolution experience
Ability to provide informed technical advice for executive decision‐making and strategic planning
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors
Highly desirable
ServiceNow experience within an Australian Government environment
Experience with Strategic Portfolio Management
Experience with HR Service Delivery
Experience with Workplace Health and Safety modules
Strong knowledge of ICT development and security best practices
Experience working in fast‐paced Agile environments
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Awareness of accessibility requirements and current WCAG standards
About the Role
Gov Recruit is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Architect to join a Federal Government ICT team responsible for the ongoing development,



administration and optimisation of an enterprise ServiceNow platform.
Working within an Agile workplace, you will provide technical leadership, platform administration, architecture guidance and support the delivery of secure, scalable and sustainable ServiceNow solutions.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience administering enterprise ServiceNow platforms
Experience with the ServiceNow Protected Platform (SPP)
Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles
Experience with Flow Designer, Knowledge Management, Service Bridge, scripting and notifications
Experience with ServiceNow modules including SPM, HRSD and WHS
Solid troubleshooting and incident resolution skills
Knowledge of ICT security and development best practices
Experience working in Agile delivery environments
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
