Members mainly conduct border controls and responsibility extending from Rockhampton to Thursday Island, providing maintenance, logistic and administrative support for Cairns fleet-based units.
The base is home to approximately **** Navy and civilian personnel providing primary medical, underwater medicine, dental, nursing, and mental health services.
The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 07:00 to 16:30 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.

What You Will Do Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence membersOcc Med environmentWork collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentConduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment careProvide medical advice to Defence health leadership What You Bring Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General PractitionerFRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational RegistrationMinimum two years' GP experience in the last five yearsCurrent CPR certification (HLTAID009)Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care Additional Information Provide Occupational Medicine servicesCivilian role – no enlistment required Who We Are Serco supports more than 12,000 professionals across Asia Pacific, delivering essential services in defence, health, justice, and beyond.
