Axxion Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for an established food manufacturing operation in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.

This is a hands-on frontline leadership role with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day maintenance activity, supporting production requirements and leading a team of skilled tradespeople within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Axxion Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for an established food manufacturing operation in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.

The position would suit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor or Leading Hand, or a strong senior tradesperson ready to step into a formal leadership role.

The Role
n
Working closely with production and the broader engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance priorities are managed effectively and equipment availability is maximised.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n




Leading and coordinating a team of maintenance trades
n
Allocating daily work and managing maintenance priorities
n
Coordinating breakdown response to minimise production downtime
n
Supporting preventative and planned maintenance activities
n
Providing hands-on technical support when required
n
Working closely with production to resolve equipment and reliability issues
n
Identifying recurring faults and opportunities for improvement
n
Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and maintenance compliance
n
Coaching and developing tradespeople within the team
n
n
About You
n
You will have a strong maintenance background and be comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can change quickly and good communication between maintenance and production is critical.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
Mechanical or electrical trade qualification
n
Previous supervisory, leading-hand or team leadership experience
n
Strong industrial maintenance and fault-finding experience
n
Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
n
Exposure to automated production or processing equipment
n
The ability to prioritise work and coordinate trades effectively
n
Strong communication and practical problem-solving skills
n
A genuine commitment to safety and equipment reliability
n
n
Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, meat processing, agricultural processing or another high-volume manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.
