My client is a multi-generation Australian family business is looking for a Finance Manager to own its finance function. The business designs, imports and distributes clothing products - operating across wholesale, multi-site retail, concession, and a growing e-commerce channel.

ABOUT THE ROLE
n
Reporting to the co-directors, you'll manage the full finance function across a multi-entity, multi-channel importing business. There are no direct reports.
n
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
n
n
Cin7 Core to Xero reconciliation
n
Weekly debtor finance reporting and upload to the invoice funding facility
n
Local and overseas creditor management and payment runs
n




BAS preparation and lodgement
n
Payroll reconciliation and wages-related accounts
n
Monthly accruals, prepayments, and month-end close
n
n
Periodic responsibilities include:
n
n
Year-end preparation – journals, supporting schedules, and financial statements (AU and NZ)
n
NZ entity management
n
Inventory and landed cost accounting
n
FX contract management
n
Agent commissions and store rent reconciliation
n
Liaison with external accountants at year-end
n
n
You'll work closely with the operations lead on goods receipting and with the co-directors on financial performance. The role sits at the centre of the business - connecting operations, leadership, and external compliance.

WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR
n
n
Experience with an inventory management system in a product-based or wholesale business – Cin7, DEAR, AP21, Unleashed, or similar. Any platform. The concept is what counts. This is a non-negotiable.
n
Hands-on Xero proficiency – Cin7 feeds directly into Xero and this is where the business is managed from.
n
Background in wholesale, retail, or importing – solid understanding of COGS, landed costs, and multi-channel operations.
n
Exposure to debtor or invoice finance facilities.
n
Small business or family business background - you've worked in a close-knit environment, you understand the pace and the culture, and you thrive in it.
n
Strong communicator - you can translate numbers into plain language for a non-financial audience.
n
CA or CPA qualified - commercial experience and systems capability are equally as important.
