The Opportunity
n
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Payroll Officer to join a busy payroll function supporting approximately 1,000 employees. Working within a highly manual payroll environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining payroll operations during a period of maternity leave cover within the team. This role requires a strong payroll professional who can confidently manage BAU payroll responsibilities, investigate discrepancies, analyse reporting, and is comfortable processing payroll in a more manual environment. This position will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, has advanced Excel skills, and can confidently work through payroll issues with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
End-to-end payroll processing across a workforce of circa **** employees
n
Managing fortnightly payroll cycles for both permanent and casual employees
n
Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreement conditions and payroll legislation
n
Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving payroll-related issues
n
Maintaining payroll accuracy, compliance and data integrity
n




Reviewing payroll reports and identifying anomalies
n
Performing payroll reconciliations and audit checks
n
Managing manual payroll calculations and adjustments
n

About You
n
n
5+ years of demonstrated experience in an end-to-end payroll processing role
n
Must have Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and formula analysis
n
Able to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
n
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
n
Experience working within large and complex payroll environments
n
Strong investigative and analytical skills
n
Comfortable working with manual payroll processes
n
High attention to detail and ability to identify issues proactively
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
