Townsville Cabinetmaking & Joinery are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Furniture Finisher to join their team in Garbutt QLD.
n

Studying drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine requirements
n
Selecting tools and machine requirements and determining sequence of actions
n
Setting up woodworking machines and wood stock
n
Running machines to cut, plane, turn, shape and sand work pieces
n
Applying stain, lacquer, paint, oil and varnish to furniture, also polishing and waxing finished furniture surfaces
n
Fitting frame pieces, handles, hardware, hinges and backing materials as required
n
examine and disassemble furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration and the best method for repair or restoration




n
recommend woods, colours, finishes, and furniture styles
n
n
Skills and Abilities
n
n
Ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Furniture Finisher
n
A Cert III in Furniture Finishing or relevant
n
Ability to work in a team setting
n
repair broken parts and fill cracks and imperfections
n
follow plans to produce specific designs
n
remove old finishes and damaged or deteriorated parts
n
n
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience. Fulltime Position available
n
