An independent, purpose-built specialist and emergency hospital in Newcastle is seeking a Veterinary Dermatologist to join its growing multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of dermatology services within a hospital committed to clinical excellence, ethical medicine and genuine work-life balance.

The Hospital

The hospital provides specialist, referral and emergency care across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley and surrounding regions.
n
Its newly opened, custom-designed facility includes:

Two surgical theatres
n
Eight consultation rooms
n
A dedicated ICU
n
Specialist diagnostic imaging with CT and ultrasound
n
Separate wards for cats, exotic animals and infectious patients
n
A comprehensive in-house laboratory
n
An on-site pharmacy
n
Dedicated spaces where staff can rest and recharge
n
n
You will work alongside clinicians across soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, rehabilitation, behaviour, ophthalmology and 24/7 emergency and critical care.

The multidisciplinary structure supports collaborative case management, healthy caseloads and sustainable working patterns, giving specialists the time and resources to deliver excellent patient care.

The Opportunity

The position can be tailored around the experience, interests and preferred working pattern of the successful candidate.
n
Whether you would like to lead and develop a new dermatology service, work collaboratively within a wider referral team,
or combine clinical responsibilities with teaching interests, the hospital is open to designing a role that works for you.

About You
n
You will be a qualified veterinarian with:
n
n
A veterinary degree recognised for registration in New South Wales, such as a BVSc, DVM or equivalent
n
Board certification or completion of an approved residency in veterinary dermatology
n
A commitment to professional integrity and patient-centred care
n
A collaborative and supportive approach to multidisciplinary working
n
An interest in helping to build a meaningful, sustainable dermatology service
