Responsible Sourcing Auditor Subcontractor

The On-Demand Responsible Sourcing Auditor is an independent contractor engaged on an as-needed basis to conduct social compliance audits and inspections across supplier sites. The role supports clients in ensuring ethical sourcing practices, adherence to international standards, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

This position requires flexibility, solid auditing expertise, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities
n
Conduct social compliance audits in line with client protocols and internationally recognized standards (e.g., SMETA, Fair Farms or equivalent)
n
Evaluate supplier performance against labour, health & safety, environmental, and ethical business practices
n
Perform site inspections, worker and management interviews, and document reviews. Identify non-conformities, risks, and areas for improvement in supply chain practices
n
Prepare clear, accurate,



and timely audit reports in accordance with company and client requirements
n
Ensure all audit findings are evidence-based, objective, and well-documented
n
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all audit information
n
Communicate professionally with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders
n
Adhere to audit schedules, deadlines, and quality standards
n
Stay up to date with evolving responsible sourcing standards and industry expectations
n
Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Proven experience as a Responsible Sourcing Auditor, Social Compliance Auditor
n
Strong knowledge of international auditing standards (e.g., SMETA, Fair Farm standards)
n
Auditor certifications (e.g., APSCA)
n
Experience conducting ethical, labour, health & safety, and environmental audits
n
Strong understanding of supply chain risk management and compliance frameworks
n
Excellent interviewing, observation, and analytical skills
