n $350K Base Salary Plus Loadings and Allowances

About the role
n
The Senior Medical Practitioner (SMP) will provide and supervise medical care to prisoners by delivering and evaluating medical programs and medical services required and/or provided.
n The SMP coordinates hours of service and on call responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services.
n The SMP assists the Director, Medical Services with the research, preparation and development of new business opportunities.
n The role requires the incumbent to perform all duties in accordance with the GEO Healthcare Values.

n Salary for Full Time: 350k plus super (subject to experience and qualification) (pro-rata for Part Time)

Skills and Experience
n
The ideal candidates will have:
n
n
Medical practitioner currently registered by the Medical Board of Australia (from 1 July ****).
n
Fellowship of the FRACGP (Mandatory).
n
Documentary evidence of medical indemnity insurance.
n
A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
n
High written and verbal communication skills.
n
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team (including supporting Allied Health & Nurse Practitioner)
n
Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care.
n
Willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position.
n
Computer skills relevant to the role.
n
Experience in mental health,



drug and alcohol and emergency care. (Desirable)
n
n
Other Requirements of the role
n
n
Valid Australian driver's license and the ability to travel between locations.
n
Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
n
Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
n
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
n
Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required - including participation in an on-call roster.
n
