Newcastle / Hunter Region Ideal Technologies is seeking an experienced and fully qualified Telecommunications Technician / Tradesperson to join our Newcastle-based team. This is a hands‐on role for someone with strong commercial telecommunications experience who can work independently, deliver high‐quality installations and be relied upon across a variety of commercial projects.

Our team works across a diverse range of commercial projects throughout Newcastle, the Hunter and surrounding regions, including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial and mining environments. About the Role As a qualified Telecommunications Technician, you will be involved in the installation, termination, testing, fault‐finding and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructure across commercial projects.

Your work will include: Installation and termination of copper structured cabling Installation, termination and testing of optical fibre
n
Testing, certification and fault‐finding of telecommunications cabling Installation of telecommunications pathways and associated infrastructure Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and project documentation
n
Working across commercial construction,



fit‐out and upgrade projects Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and presentation Working independently as well as part of a project team
n
Liaising professionally with supervisors, clients and other trades on site Completing work safely and in accordance with relevant standards and site requirements Experience across CCTV, access control, intercom and other commercial technology systems will also be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements To be considered for this position, applicants must have: Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent recognised telecommunications qualification

Current Open Cabler Registration Demonstrated commercial experience with copper structured cabling
n
Demonstrated experience with optical fibre installation and termination Experience working on commercial projects Current Construction Industry White Card
n
Current full Australian driver's licence Ability to work independently and reliably across varying project locations Applicants must be appropriately qualified and capable of carrying out telecommunications work to a professional commercial standard.

Works safely and follows procedures Is comfortable working across a range of different sites and environments Wants to be part of a professional telecommunications and technology team

Highly Regarded Additional experience or qualifications in any of the following will be advantageous: Optical fibre endorsements and advanced fibre experience
n
Structured cabling endorsements Testing and certification of copper and fibre installations CCTV and IP surveillance systems
n
Access control Intercom systems Commercial audio‐visual systems
n
MATV and coaxial systems Supervising apprentices or junior technicians Experience working on larger commercial or construction projects
n
