We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely and meaningful financial reporting.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end processes, assisting with financial reporting and compliance obligations, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities.
n
This is an excellent chance for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to further develop their technical accounting skills within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and banking reconciliations.
n
Process general ledger journals and assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
n
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
n
Assist with BAS preparation, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
n
Maintain fixed asset registers across the group.
n
Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
n
Assist with healthcare-related reporting requirements, including NH3 and Monthly Operating Reports.
n
Provide support across Finance, including Accounts Payable, Payroll and invoicing activities when required.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the delivery of high-quality financial services.
n

About You
n
Essential
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
n
Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial accounting role.
n
CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion.
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
n
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Experience within aged care, healthcare or a related industry.
n
Experience working with large and complex business environments.
n
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
n
n
