Production Manager/ Quality Control -Heavy Engineering

Lead, mentor and supervise a production team of approximately 25 employees.
n
Create a positive, accountable and safety-focused workplace culture.

Allocate daily workloads to maximize productivity.

Monitor workflow throughout the day to ensure production targets are achieved.
n
Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
n
Ensure labor resources are effectively utilized.

Key Responsibilities
n
Production Leadership
n
n
Lead, mentor and supervise a production team of approximately 25 employees.

Monitor workflow throughout the day to ensure production targets are achieved.
n
Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
n
Ensure labor resources are effectively utilized.

Quality Control
n
n
Ensure every product is manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings and company quality standards.
n
Inspect work throughout the manufacturing process rather than only at completion.
n
Maintain high welding standards and fabrication quality.
n
Ensure fabrication accuracy, fitment and finish meet company expectations.
n
Identify quality issues early and implement corrective actions.
n
Reduce rework through effective quality management.
n
n
Production Planning
n
n
Coordinate daily production schedules.
n
Prioritize urgent customer orders in consultation with the Sales Team.
n
Ensure customized jobs are correctly communicated to production staff.
n
Monitor work progress and adjust priorities where required.
n
Ensure products are completed in time for scheduled fitting appointments.
n
n
Cross Department Communication
n
Work closely with multiple departments to ensure smooth production flow.




n
This includes liaising with:
n
n
Sales Team
n
n
Prioritize urgent customer orders.
n
Understand customized product requirements.
n
Provide production updates where required.
n
n
Fitting Department
n
n
Ensure completed products are ready for scheduled vehicle fitments.
n
Resolve production delays before they impact installation schedules.
n
n
Drafting Department
n
n
Report drawing discrepancies.
n
Recommend drawing improvements.
n
Assist in resolving manufacturing issues caused by incorrect or outdated drawings.
n
n
Purchasing Officer
n
n
Advise when materials require replenishment.
n
Recommend replacement or purchase of production equipment.
n
Assist with forecasting production material requirements.
n
n
n
Productivity & Continuous Improvement
n
n
Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the workshop.
n
Reduce waste of steel, aluminum and consumable materials.
n
Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintained appropriately.
n
Improve production efficiency while maintaining quality.
n
Monitor production KPIs and recommend improvements.
n
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.
n
n
Equipment & Workshop Management
n
n
Ensure machinery and equipment are operated correctly.
n
Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements.
n
Promote good housekeeping throughout the workshop.
n
Ensure workstations remain clean, organized and safe.
n
n
Safety
n
n




Ensure compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety policies.
n
Promote safe work practices.
n
Conduct toolbox meetings where required.
n
Ensure all employees wear appropriate PPE.
n
Investigate incidents and implement preventative actions.
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Previous experience managing a fabrication or manufacturing workshop.
n
Strong leadership and people management skills.
n
Ability to motivate and develop production teams.
n
Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
n
Excellent knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
n
Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control.
n
Experience with production scheduling.
n
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
n
Strong communication skills across multiple departments.
n
A commitment to workplace safety.
n
