We are seeking an experienced Head Trainer to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery, quality and continuous improvement of several nationally recognised qualifications while leading and mentoring a team of Trainers and Assessors.
n
This role is ideal for an experienced VET professional who enjoys leading people, developing high-quality training resources, maintaining compliance, and making a genuine impact on educational outcomes. While this is a management position, you will also remain connected to the classroom by delivering training when required to support your team.

About the Role
n
As the Head Trainer, you will provide educational leadership across the following qualifications:
n
n
Certificate III in Individual Support
n
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
n
Certificate IV in Ageing Support
n
Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
n
Diploma of Community Services
n
n
You will lead a team of Trainers and Assessors, oversee course quality and compliance, support student success, and drive continuous improvement across your training portfolio.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Leadership & People Management
n
n
Lead, mentor and support a team of Trainers and Assessors.
n
Foster a positive, team-oriented and high‐performing team culture.
n
Conduct performance reviews,
provide coaching and support professional development.
n
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
n
Step in to deliver training and assessment when operationally required.
n
n
Educational Quality
n
n
Oversee the quality and consistency of training delivery across your qualifications.
n
Develop, review and continuously improve Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), learning resources and assessment tools.
n
Ensure training materials remain current, industry‐relevant and compliant.
n
Participate in industry consultation and continuous improvement activities.
n
n
Compliance & Quality Assurance
n
n
Ensure compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and Charter Australia's policies and procedures.
n
Lead validation, moderation and quality assurance activities.
n
Monitor qualification performance and implement improvement initiatives.
n
Maintain accurate records and ensure learning resources and student information are effectively managed within the student record management system.
n

Student Success
n
n
Monitor student progress and identify students requiring additional support.
n
Work collaboratively with trainers and administration to ensure positive student outcomes.
n
Oversee the management of complaints, appeals and student support within your training portfolio.
n
Liaise with the administration team regarding work placements and student progression.
n
n
Course Planning & Development
n
n
Assist with course planning, scheduling and trainer allocations.
n
Support the development of new qualifications and delivery models.
n
Ensure educational resources remain contemporary, engaging and aligned with industry needs.
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
n
Essential
n
n
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
n
Relevant vocational qualifications in Health and Individual Support
n
Demonstrated experience delivering nationally recognised VET qualifications.
n
Strong knowledge of the Standards for RTOs and the Australian VET sector.
n
Experience leading or mentoring Trainers and Assessors.
n
Experience developing or reviewing learning resources, assessment tools and Training and Assessment Strategies.
n
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
n
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and educational quality.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Current registered Nurse with APRHA
n
Experience using aXcelerate Student Management System
n
Experience working with both domestic and international students.
n
Experience managing multiple qualifications and educational teams.
n
n
