Job Description
SALARY: $126,970 - $145,522 pa + Super + leaseback vehicle

As Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key leadership role in shaping Council's financial future, providing strategic advice, leading a high-performing team, and driving budgeting, financial planning and reporting activities that support sustainable growth and sound decision-making.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership position is responsible for leading Council's Management Accounting team and delivering high-quality budgeting, financial planning, reporting, governance and business partnering services. The role supports informed organisational decision-making, legislative compliance and long-term financial sustainability while driving continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and controls.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in an accounting related discipline and extensive experience in senior finance role
n
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a finance team with proven outcomes.
n
Expert knowledge and experience in budgeting, financial management and statutory reporting
n
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Long-term financial planning
n
Extensive knowledge and experience in applyingaccounting policies, principles and accounting standards
n
Demonstrated experience in implementing andunderstanding of electronic budget systems
n
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with good analytic and data interpretation skills
n
Demonstrated abilityto apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity atall times
n
Previous Local Government experience in a senior financial role
n
Sound financialknowledge of Section 94 planning
n
